How to Get Involved As a Community Center Volunteer

Mechanicville Area Community Services Center volunteers have an opportunity to enrich their own lives, and the lives of others, as they make our community a better place for all.  Now more then ever, volunteers are needed. We have many volunteer opportunities to match the interests of individuals.

If you have special skills such as, budgeting, mechanical abilities, tax preparation skills, resume writing, computer knowledge or a skill you think may help others – we could use you and your talents!

A few of our volunteer opportunities:

 

• Contributions – Financial support and donations of goods and/or services

• · Transportation (Van Provided) – Driving people to trainings, medical appointments, or shopping

• · Advocacy

• · Food Pantry – Stocking shelves, picking up donations, and distributing to families in need

• · Clerical Office Support – Filing, answering phones

• · Work with Children – Care for children at our facility while parents are involved in training,    counseling, etc ...

• · Outreach / Staff Training – Share your knowledge with others

• · Family Development – Volunteers play a vital role in our Family Development Program, working directly with individuals and families on short and long-term goals to help them learn healthy interdependence.

• · Extra Helpings - Unloading cases of food for distribution.
