Youth Development

MACSC's Youth Development Program offers educational and recreational activities after school, evenings and weekends, and during the summer.

Mechanicville After-School Clubs (MASC) offer free after-school programs for middle school youth at the Mechanicville Middle School.  Clubs have included:
  • Homework Club
  • Gaming Club
  • Craft Club
  • Cooking Club
  • Friends of Rachel (FOR) Club 

Workforce Readiness Training: Previously, MACSC sponsored Workforce Readiness Training for youth ages 14 and up. At present, this program is unavailable. The program: 
  • focuses on basic interview and resume-writing skills, as well as work preparation skills;
  • offers community service opportunities to gain skills and provide experience for future opportunities;
  • those completing the program will be eligible to apply for Counselor in Training (CIT) positions for the summer;
  • MACSC will assist students in locating other paid internship and job opportunities

 The Summer Adventure Program features
  • swimming, summer activities and field trips
  • middle school open gym, Monday and Wednesday, 6-8pm
  • sports clinics and workshops
