School Aged Child Care

Our New York State licensed School Aged Child Care Program provides an enriching before and after environment for children aged 5–12.

This program includes the following:

• Vacation, holiday, snow closing and half day programming
• Wrap around summer program
• Two sites in both Mechanicville and Hoosic Valley School Districts
• An age appropriate safe and fun atmosphere with qualified staff
• Affordable childcare prices around

 It is the goal of the Mechanicville Area Community Services Center to offer quality, affordable childcare to parents residing in the Mechanicville City and Hoosick Valley School Districts.

The School Age Child Care Program is a safe and inviting place for children to learn, play, and make lasting friendships. The SACC Program is designed to offer a variety of activities for each child. The program is not an extension of the school day, but rather an opportunity for youth to enjoy a variety of activities and socialize with their peers.  Parents are encouraged to stop by anytime and join in the activities.

Quality

Our School-Age Child Care Program is licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services for children ages 5-12. The benefit of choosing a licensed program is that all rules and regulations set by them are followed to ensure safe, supervised care for the children enrolled in our program. There will be a least one staff person for every 10 youth. Our staff members are screened finger printed through the New York State Child Abuse Registry, show proof of current medical history, attend monthly trainings, and meet all NYSOCFS child care staff requirements.
