Food Insecurity is detrimental to the United States economy. The cycle of food insecurity begins when an individual or family cannot afford enough nutritious food. The Mechanicville Area Community Services Center (MACSC), recognizes how important food assistance is in preventing food insecurity and promoting healthy lifestyles in our community. Our Food Program offers several resources to help combat hunger and bring awareness to food insecurity in and around our local community.

Farm Fresh
The Mechanicville Area Community Services Center partners with local farms to help combat food insecurity, as a result, we are able to provide our clients with FRESH produce from Summer through Fall.
What fresh produce should be expected? We cannot guarantee the availability of any crop on any particular week. However, we have included a calendar which displays the normal harvest windows for each crop, and quick easy recipes that can be used for each crop. Please Note: There are always variations in production, crop failures, and other factors that limit or change a crop’s availability.
