MACSC Welcomes NEW Housing & Resources Specialist – Josnelly Cerda

The Mechanicville Area Community Services Center welcomes a new Housing & Resources Specialist, Josnelly “Nelly” Cerda but you can call her Nelly. Through networking, Nelly was introduced to MACSC where she learned of all our programs and hands-on projects we do with Domestic Violence, Youth Violence, Food Pantry and helping families with other resources throughout Saratoga and Rensselaer Counties.

Her passion for helping people started when she was an Emotional Support staff member for Code Blue with Shelters of Saratoga. Nelly role was to help the most vulnerable members in the community, by keeping them warm, fed, and safe throughout the coldest months of the year. For her, this felt very rewarding. She went on to become an Administrative Assistant for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program where she assisted landlords and tenants that struggled during the COVID-19 pandemic with applications to get their back rent paid.

Nelly is very excited and looks forward to growing with MACSC as the Housing and Resource Specialist, as well as connecting with more members of the community and Saratoga County. As a single mother of two, she knows first-hand how difficult things can be and is eager to help in any way she can! She gladly looks forward to working with you.
