The 7th Annual Tammy & Jessie Memorial Golf Fundraiser hosted by The McCormack Family is quickly approaching! All proceeds to benefit Domestic Violence Program at The Mechanicville Area Community Services Center.

Why the Tammie & Jessie Memorial Golf Fundraiser Was Founded

The Tammie & Jessie Memorial Golf Fundraiser was established in memory of two beloved family members, Tammie and Jessica McCormack, whose lives were tragically taken by domestic violence on April 9, 2013.

On that devastating night, Jessica’s on-and-off boyfriend, in a fit of rage over a social media post, took both her life and that of her mother, Tammie. Though there were no visible signs of physical abuse, there were numerous red flags pointing to emotional manipulation and control—often overlooked yet equally dangerous forms of abuse.

In the wake of this unimaginable loss, the McCormack family chose to channel their grief into action. They have since dedicated themselves to raising awareness about domestic violence, particularly emotional abuse, and its early warning signs. Partnering with local domestic violence organizations and schools, their mission is to educate young people about healthy relationships, promote safe dating practices, and support individuals in difficult or potentially dangerous situations.

Through this annual golf fundraiser and related community initiatives, the McCormack family honors Tammie and Jessica’s memory by helping others recognize the signs of abuse—and ultimately, save lives.
