SACC Lifeguard – Part Time ~ 16-37.5 hours

Position: SACC Lifeguard (Summer Only)
**Opportunity to stay on after Summer for School Year Program available**
Reports To: SACC Director
What Will I Do?
- Working with children K-6 during the SACC Camp to ensure safety during swimming.
- Supervise the safety and rescue of swimmers and water sport participants in MACSC Summer Program during swimming trips.
- Ability to pick up additional hours as Youth Staff on Program days with no swimming trips.
- Shifts 8:45 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Mondays – Fridays at Mechanicville Elementary School
Lifeguard Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older preferred
- Water Safety Instructor Certification from American Red Cross required
- Basic Swim Instructor Certification from American Red Cross required
- CPR Certification required
- High School Diploma or its equivalent
- One Year experience working with children under 13 years old
- Must enjoy working with children K-6
- Must have reliable Transportation
Additional SACC Requirements:
- Associate degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or a related Field preferred
- School Age Child Care (SACC) Credential or other office recognized credential specific to the school-age developmental period
- One year experience working with children less than 13 years of age preferred
- One-Two years of direct experience working with children less than 13 years of age preferred
- Valid Driver’s License preferred

MACSC is a small agency and various duties will occasionally be requested of each employee. All employees are expected to contribute to the efficient operation of MACSC, not necessarily in the capacity listed in the description. These duties will come at the request of and under the direction of Executive Director.
